Magic Show - December 2009

As a member of Wellington Lions I have helped out with, but not watched previous Magic Shows. As I now have an 18month old, I thought it would be something she may enjoy. Although I wasn’t particularly sure how she would go, but thought I would play it by ear – as you do with a toddler.

Well having to wait for the show to start and of course of all in attendance I have the child who is not holding back on expressing herself vocally at just being there. Yes the whole auditorium full of children and I have the noisy one!

As soon as the show started she was engrossed. She had the visual choice of the main stage in the middle, and large screens on either side. The stage was easy to see, but she preferred the big screen. She was not happy about the intermission, as she wanted the show to continue. Much to my pleasant surprise she was happy to sit on my knee for the show and it would appear she thoroughly enjoyed it, as did I.

Well what a great show it was. The whole production was just spectacular and highly polished. Where to start... the Magicians and performers, their stage presence, their fluid motion, their dancing, the visuals of their costumes and great choice of music, the audience buy in – the whole experience was just great.

Of course the magic!! Disappearance, reappearance, magic rings and magic doves, the knives through the head, and the disjointed head, arms and legs – my 18 month old expressed her concern over that one. And there was even floating in mid air. There was a couple of audience participants and plenty of Magic within the hour and a half.

The Magic Show was definitely enchanting and a magical event with plenty of eye candy that catered to all.

I'm sure I speak for my club when I say a big thank you to all the businesses that sponsor tickets to this event , as this event puts happiness into the lives of those who need it.
